Kokeshi Matches.
And yet again another post on Japanese packaging, this time of some super cute, super too-good-to-use matches (which have been lying around on my shelf for quite some time now). Japan should really stop designing such quirky packaging solutions for everyday mundane objects (like matches), and give us normal countries a chance at being amazing for once. In other words, you guys are the coolest. We designers can certainly learn a thing or two from you.
The two designers behind these gorgeous matches have also written a book on how to sell hand-made goods and essentially become a successful entrepreneur in our rapidly growing market of craft and hand-made awesomeness. You can view more Kokeshi Matches here, but honestly I don’t think I could ever bring myself to use them!
